Position Overview: Inclusive Art Teachers
The Inclusive Arts Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing engaging, accessible, and inclusive arts education programs for students of diverse abilities and learning styles. This role involves developing and delivering art lessons that foster creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts, a strong understanding of inclusive education practices, and the ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
Reporting and Collaboration with: Principal, Assistant Principal
Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

Develop and implement comprehensive arts curricula that align with state and national standards.

Create differentiated lesson plans and activities to accommodate diverse learning needs.

Incorporate a variety of art mediums and techniques to engage students of all abilities.

Instructional Delivery:

Deliver engaging and effective art instruction that fosters creativity and critical thinking.

Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students.
-
Use a variety of instructional strategies, including visual aids, hands-on activities, and technology.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress and achievement.
-
Use formative and summative assessment techniques to inform instruction and provide feedback.

Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress.

Collaboration and Support:

Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to ensure a coordinated approach to student learning.

Support science teachers in using the Amplify Science curriculum.
-
Integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into art lessons to foster student well-being.
-
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to inform them of their child's progress and to involve them in their child's education.

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in inclusive arts education.

Classroom Management:

Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity and respect.

Establish and maintain effective classroom routines and procedures.

Manage student behavior in a positive and constructive manner.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in art education or a related field.
-
Valid teaching certification.
-
Experience teaching students with diverse abilities and learning styles.

Strong knowledge of art techniques and materials.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and to work collaboratively with others.

Passion for the arts and a commitment to inclusive education.
