Position Overview: Inclusive Science Teachers
The Inclusive Science Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing engaging and effective science instruction for students of diverse abilities and learning styles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of science content, pedagogical strategies, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Reporting and Collaboration with: Principal, Assistant Principal
Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:
-
Develop and implement comprehensive science curricula that align with state and national standards.

Create differentiated lesson plans and activities to accommodate diverse learning needs.

Utilize the Amplify Science curriculum to enhance science instruction and implement Project-Based Learning (PBL) methods.

Instructional Delivery:
-
Deliver engaging and effective science instruction using a variety of teaching methods, including inquiry-based learning, laboratory experiments, and technology.

Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students.

Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and social-emotional learning.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress and achievement.
-
Use formative and summative assessment techniques to inform instruction and provide feedback.

Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress.

Collaboration and Support:
-
Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to ensure a coordinated approach to student learning.

Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to inform them of their child's progress and to involve them in their child's education.

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in inclusive science education.

Classroom Management:
-
Establish and maintain effective classroom routines and procedures.

Manage student behavior in a positive and constructive manner.

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in science education or a related field.
-
Valid teaching certification.
-
Strong knowledge of science content and pedagogy.
-
Experience teaching science at the [Grade Level(s)] level.

Experience using PBL methods and implementing the Amplify Science curriculum.

Ability to use technology effectively in the classroom.

Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Passion for science and a commitment to inclusive education.
