Early Identification and Assessments
Early Identification and Assessments are a critical component of our commitment to the Whole Child Framework at Puzzle Pieces Learning Academy. This proactive process allows us to systematically gather information about each student's unique needs, strengths, and learning styles at the very beginning of their educational journey. By utilizing these comprehensive assessments, we gain valuable, data-driven insights that inform and enrich each child's Personalized Learning Plan (PLP). While the PLP serves as a living roadmap for a student’s academic and personal growth, early identification ensures that this plan is built upon a solid foundation of real data, allowing us to implement targeted interventions and support with precision. This approach guarantees that every Puzzle Piece receives the individualized attention they need to thrive from day one.
At Puzzle Pieces Learning Academy PCS, our commitment to providing the highest quality education begins with our educators. Our professional development for Pre-K teachers is designed to align with and exceed the rigorous standards set by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the Blueprint for Maryland's Future. This commitment ensures that our staff are not only certified but are also continuously enhancing their skills and knowledge. Our educators complete the required 12 clock hours of continued training annually, with a minimum of six hours dedicated to the MSDE's "Core of Knowledge" areas, which include child development, curriculum, and professionalism. By investing in ongoing, job-embedded professional development, we empower our educators to stay current on the latest research and best practices, ensuring every student receives an exceptional and evidence-based learning experience.
